Study Smarter, Not Harder - Shared screen with speaker view
I’m going to use the chat since my mic is low.
I have that
YES! But are you actually USING it? :)
haha that's always the hard part, isn't it?
yup, I think I might switch to one on my phone as it would be easier to keep myself in check and easier to access
that's a good idea - half the battle is figuring out which method works best for you
Google calendar is really amazing - one of our other advisors created a video on how to use it effectively if you're interested...
yeah, trial and error until one wins.
Sometimes the worries are overwhelming and prevent studying even when you try extremely hard.
Great point, Becky!
Since you can't always sit up front anymore - keep your video on! Harder sleep when you can get caught live on candid camera!!!
Think of note-taking shortcuts like the abbreviations you use when texting - LOL
my handwriting is very messy and it makes my notes unreadable the sec time
Typing notes sounds like the right way for you then! Perhaps re-writing them out later, slowly and neatly, is an option
There's a separate webinar on different note-taking strategies that was offered last week - it's recorded and available on the SEAS Student Success Series webpage - you might benefit from a watch! http://engineering.buffalo.edu/home/academics/undergrad/advisement/success-series.html
this seems like a great idea for me
i struggle to study for 30 min at a time
yes! break up studying time - if you know you've got a huge test coming up in a week, plan ahead. you can break down studying into smaller times throughout the week
the trick here goes back to time management!
what about watching asynchronous in 2 times speed?
do you mean that you sped it up or the instructor talks really fast
I find a lot of value in rewatching so that I can add to my notes - but that strategy doesn't work for everyone
I’m trying to get tutoring, but I am in a math class that does not have much help outside the class. I even tried signing up for tutoring, but it is “unavailable.” There are no small groups for it and I am trying, but I am still messing up. We had an exam today and I flunked. What do I do now?
